8.00 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: Yoga and meditation
Each day starts by nurturing your physical and mental well being. These sessions are suitable for everyone from beginners to advanced and individual requirements can be accommodated for.
Like the rest of the programme this session is optional, so if your needs are better served by staying in bed that’s fine too.
9.30am A nutritious breakfast
The focus in the kitchen is on tasty and health giving meals.
Each day will be an opportunity to experience and gain information about eating well.
11.00 Morning workshops
In this session, workshops on Vertical Reflex Therapy; Natural Nutrition; using medicinal herbs to support bodywork treating specific conditions; and self awareness, will be offered by practitioners in these fields. The team section on this page gives you more details about the workshops.
2.00pm A delicious lunch
Making full and fantastic use of the abundant local and homegrown vegetables, local olive oil, cheeses and other local produce.
3.00—7.00pm Afternoon session
The afternoons will be dedicated to sharing our skills and techniques with each other, in practical hands-on sessions.
There will be time and space in this session to team up with one of the Equilibrio reflexologists or other participants for a treatment swap and more in depth sharing should you chose to do so. Whether newly qualified or an experienced reflexologist, learning from and sharing knowledge with peers can be interesting and rewarding. Experiencing each others techniques and discussing methods of treatment allows us the opportunity to look at things in a different way. It can be a great opportunity to build confidence in our own skills and empower us as therapists, especially if we are working in practice on our own or returning to reflexology after a break.
The afternoons will also be the time for you to receive your two complimentary treatments from top quality bodywork practitioners -as part of your Equilibrio experience.
As well as relaxing, energising and balancing you, you will gain or increase your first hand knowledge of these therapies. As part of the Equilibrio team, these practitioners will be on hand at other times during the week to share their knowledge with you in a relaxed and informal way.
This is also the time to swim, walk, bask in the sun, to breathe in the beautiful mountain air and to fully relax. There are many interesting books in the library which you can borrow during your stay.
Thursday morning will be free and is your opportunity to explore the wider area, go hiking or horse-riding, visit the local town market or the mountain villages. Your host Anna will be available to organise any trips you would like to take.
7.30pm A tasty dinner
Another culinary delight, also including a sumptuous and surprisingly healthy desert.
Evenings are free time for star gazing, moonlight swimming, chatting or just hanging out.

Vertical Reflexology Techniques (VRT)
Lynne will offer a workshop in the basic and advanced VRT techniques so that the practitioner can immediately integrate them into their treatments. There will then be a session on Hand Reflexology and VRT, where general techniques will be shared plus options will be considered for working with children, older people, palliative care and dementia. Lynne works extensively with elite sports persons and will demonstrate and teach some of her profound newer VRTM techniques, where Vertical Reflexology is combined with the client gently mobilising a limb or trunk, while specific reflexes are simultaneously targeted. See www.boothvrt.com for a link to articles on the above subjects on the home page of Lynne’s website.

[ut_tab title=”Overview” id=”t18″]
Kitty is a body worker of over a decade who has studied kinesthetic movement in depth from many different angles. Having trained with Dance Movement Therapists at the beginning of her career, she uses dance as a medium to promote health and well being with various age groups. She is also a professional Shiatsu practitioner, giving her a unique, holographic insight into the body’s rhythms. The main focus of all of her work is the body/mind connection, where the two meet, express themselves and compensate for each other.
She has a deep spiritual practice which is essential to everything she does.
Kitty has been studying and practicing Shiatsu since 2005. She trained with the Bristol School of Shiatsu in the UK.
Her own practice combines beautifully with her knowledge and understanding of the body’s need for movement and stillness to change existing patterns of energy. She is skilled in observation and listening to assess an overall picture of a recipient’s needs. She may offer advice on nutrition and other forms of self-care in response to giving a treatment.
For Kitty, in practicing Shiatsu she is simply facilitating a gentle dance, a conversation between our selves and our deeper knowing
[/ut_tab]
[ut_tab title=”Therapy” id=”t19″]
Shiatsu is a Japanese system that is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (its meridians and pressure points, as well as its tools for diagnosis), using the awareness of chi as a force that runs throughout everything, to cast light on the imbalances that express themselves in the body and mind of the individual.
It is a simple technique of meeting a person’s existing energy, and finding ways to rebalance it. It can be used as support in cases of chronic disease, both of the mind and the body, as well as being effective in moving on acute complaints, or simply for encouraging a deeper level of relaxation.
To receive Shiatsu, the recipient is not required to remove any clothing, and although usually practiced at floor level, can be easily adapted to an individual’s needs.

Ceri will be leading the morning yoga class, teaching Vinyasa flow, a fluid, flowing form of yoga, linking the moves on the wave of the breath. It allows the breath in turn to move you smoothly through a sequence of movements which on a mental level signifies that all forms are impermanent and for this reason not to be held on to. The beauty of Vinyasa flow on a physical level is its versatility, ranging from slow (Yin style yoga) flow to more dynamic practices. This enables Ceri to modify and adapt classes to the needs of our particular group. Your yoga journey is absolutely personal to you and of course goes far beyond the physical so you are encourage you to come to the mat with acceptance and compassion of all physical and emotional states, cultivating an introspective, meditative attitude through your practice. Hopefully, these feelings of calm and tranquil oneness will be carried away from the mat and into every day life.

Connection
The connection we have with our clients is very important, we all know that.
But what do we actually mean when we say we connect with our clients?
How do we prepare ourselves for this connecting?
How do we use it to gather information?
How do we look after ourselves when we are connecting to dysfunction or illness?
And at the end of the day, how do we disconnect?
This workshop will give us a chance to explore with each other our various strategies and
experiences. We hope to make what is often an unconscious, unspoken part of our work,
conscious and shared.
Come prepared to have fun exploring this. We’ll be creative and share our different perspectives, learning from each other and our own deep wisdom.

Coloma is an holistic therapist with a focus on food and nutrition: She is passionate about the value of food to promote overall health and healing, on a physical, emotional and mental level.
Her knowledge and experience are based in the Eastern wisdom, such as Chinese and macrobiotic teachings, combined with our Western view on health and nutrition.
She has completed many courses throughout Europe with prominent teachers in their field, whilst also learning through her own direct healing experience
Behind her practical approach to her job, there is also the aim to inspire people to develop ethical and conscious food choices and help them cultivate a loving relationship with themselves, with food and with our beautiful planet.
[/ut_tab]
[ut_tab title=”Workshop” id=”t12″]
Nutritionalist Coloma Lopez begins by talking about the importance of food for maintaining health and supporting healing.
She will then focus on chronic inflammation.
We have all heard of anti-inflammatory diets or foods, but what is inflammation in the first place? And what can lead to an inflammatory condition?
She explains which foods should be avoided because they promote inflammation and which foods can help the body to reduce inflammation.
If time allows, she will give extra attention to two common pathologies that affect body mobility and are both related to a state of chronic inflammation: arthritis and osteoarthritis.

Sophie, our Medical Herbalist will share with us her perspective and experience regarding the use of herbs in the treatment of mobility issues.
The principles of mobility management in holistic functional herbal medicine are very different from the allopathic approach of pill taking for pain and inflammation – therefore some understanding is needed so that we do not expect the same results rather a different progression which aids
management and/or resolution without putting the liver at risk!
From anti-inflammatory strategies to tissue restoration a little more knowledge of how herbs must be used to achieve satisfactory results will help you and your clients understand natures medicine chest better and allow you to feel confident when either using herbs or referring your clients to your local herbalist.
